I created this Mushroom House to delve into a more whimsical like environment. I put a lot of emphasis on the fairy lights making it feel straight out of a fairytale, and to explore a more magical style compared to my usual art.
I wanted this scene to feel lives in, with the watering can showing that the fairy’s living in the mushroom house water the carrots, or even the mailbox implying that the fairy’s live in a system similar to our own.
The spotlight of the scene is the big glowing mushroom cap, paired with the several smaller mushrooms at the bottom of the house. The giant grass strands are there to display how tiny the the scene actually is, and the rocks and stones give off a much needed contrast to the green and reds in the scene.
